Why FAU: South �̲�ֱ�� is home and having my family nearby during residency was very important to me. Having worked with the faculty and residents of the program during my clinical years of medical school, I knew that the leadership, mentorship, training, and support offered by FAU were unparalleled.

Something about me: The phrase "it's just like riding a bike" doesn't apply to me. Even though I was once quite proficient, I seem to have, indeed, forgotten how to ride a bike!

Why FAU: During my audition rotation and the interview trail the FAU EM team really made me feel that my education was going to be in the best hands, all while having fun and acquiring a new family :) . ��Everyone is so nice and encouraging and I’m so grateful that I’m here. Not to mention being able to enjoy our paradise location!

Something about me: I have a pet bunny his name is Almond :) and I love food and traveling!

Why FAU: The initial pull to FAU was the sunny South �̲�ֱ�� location since I am originally from here. However, I ultimately chose the program because I loved the tight-knit feel and could truly tell that the faculty cared about the residents. Additionally, the excellent wellness and the strong academic and community atmosphere were unbeatable factors.

Something about me: I've been skydiving before and I've hiked Machu Picchu!

Why FAU:I fell in love with FAU during my fourth-year audition rotation. During my month here, I felt like part of a family—the connection between the residents and faculty was so genuine and supportive, unlike anything I had seen elsewhere. I was inspired by the leadership and the hands-on learning environment where everyone is nice and truly wants the best for you. On top of that, being close to my parents and friends again in South �̲�ֱ�� means the world to me.

Why FAU: I knew I wanted to return to South �̲�ֱ�� to be closer to family, but what stood out about FAU was the culture. From the start, the residents and faculty made me feel at home. We’re a close-knit group that feels like a true community. The balance of independence and strong support gives me confidence that this is a place where I can truly thrive.

Something about me: I’ve mastered optimism thanks to years of being a Dolphins fan. Fins up! 🐬

Why FAU:This program uncommonly combines the perfect amount of education/training quality, location, class cohesion and work-life balance. FAU provides an academic background to the community hospitals training is performed at, lending a lot of support and balance to the program.

Something about me:If I never went into medicine, I would have pursued a degree in Culinary Arts.

Why FAU: I chose FAU because it felt like a place where I would receive excellent emergency medicine training while also genuinely enjoying where I live and the people I work with every day. I was excited by the variety of clinical sites that residents rotate through, and I love that the program is unopposed. What really stood out to me was the people. Dr. Clayton is an absolute gem, and the pre-interview banter I overheard between faculty made me laugh and immediately feel at home. FAU felt like the right fit from the start.

Something about me: I got my start in healthcare as a nursing assistant.

Why FAU: Getting to work in a hybrid academic/community program with faculty who are supportive of us, and, at the same time, challenge us to be the best physicians we can be.

Something about me: I was born in Poland, but I moved to America when I was just 9 months old.

Why FAU: I completed an audition rotation here as a medical student and immediately knew it was where I wanted to train. The faculty and residents were incredibly supportive and welcoming, and being just minutes from the beach certainly doesn't hurt.

Why FAU: Dr. Clayton is genuinely invested in the residents and their well-being, and the small resident class allows for individualized, targeted training. The weather and the beaches around Boca Raton are certainly just another plus!

Something about me: I once had to rescue my cat out of a tree because firefighters, contrary to popular belief, don't do that.

Why FAU: I wanted a program that had strong training while being surrounded by a really supportive group of people. Being close to home (and the ocean) is an obvious perk.
