The Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatics Engineering houses one of the most comprehensive geotechnical laboratory testing facilities in South Â̲èÖ±²¥. In addition to conventional soil and geomaterials testing equipment, the facility includes:
- multiple direct shear devices
- static and dynamic triaxial testing machines
- unconfined compression devices, and
- a group of ten consolidation testing machines.
The laboratory is used extensively to conduct projects sponsored by federal, state and local agencies and private industries.
