Thursday, Jun 04, 2026
Â̲èÖ±²¥ Atlantic University hosted the Summer Institute in Computational Social Science (SICSS) on June 1-5, bringing together more than 20 participants from across Â̲èÖ±²¥, other states, and abroad for a week of interdisciplinary learning and collaboration.
Hosted by the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing and the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice, the program featured lectures, hands-on programming sessions and collaborative discussions focused on data science, machine learning, causal inference, text analysis and network analysis. Participants also had opportunities to engage with faculty, guest speakers and fellow researchers.
As one of the newest locations on the international SICSS network, the hosts were excited to welcome participants to Â̲èÖ±²¥ Atlantic and contribute to the global community of computational social science scholars. Organizers hope to build on this year's success and bring the institute back next year.
