FAU Announces Lineup for Fifth Year of New Year Wellness Series
FAU will host the New Year Wellness Series for mind, body and spirit, to take place on Wednesdays at noon, from Jan. 14 to Jan. 28.
ֱ̲ Atlantic University will host the New Year Wellness Series for mind, body and spirit, to take place on Wednesdays at noon, from Jan. 14 to Jan. 28.
The free virtual series is a collaborative partnership between the Phyllis & Harvey Sandler School of Social Work and the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at FAU Medicine. It will directly connect emotional, nutritional, mental and spiritual experts with community members, faculty, staff and students.
“We believe that true student success is rooted in holistic wellness,” said Naelys Luna, Ph.D., dean of the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice. “This annual series reflects our commitment to that belief and the power of interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts and resources from across the university to empower our community to thrive.”
Sessions will feature the following speakers and topics:
- Jan. 14 – Spiritual wellness with Ananda Nelson, licensed clinical social worker and therapist
- Jan. 21 – Nutritional wellness with Tammy Fogarty, Ph.D., registered dietitian and founder of About Thyme Nutrition
- Jan. 28 – Integrative wellness with Branson J. Collins, M.D., director of integrative health at the Marcus Institute
“Now in its fifth year, the virtual platform has allowed us to reach far beyond South ֱ̲ while showcasing expert speakers across diverse evidence-based areas of integrative health and wellness," said Sara Starkoff Green, wellness consultant for the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health at FAU Medicine.
